Dr. Steven Andersen and his wife Deb founded New Pathways MD with a simple mission: to provide personalized, physician-led care that walks alongside you on your mental health journey. We believe in the power of partnership, combining clinical expertise with a warm, human touch to help you find your path to recovery.
Life Outside the Clinic
Steve and Deb have been happily married for 41 years and have four grown children—as well as a menagerie of pets. They live in Brainerd, Minnesota, in the north-central part of the state. They love to spend time at their lakeside cabin in all four seasons.
Outside of medicine, Steve enjoys spending time outdoors in nature, running, reading, and looking up at the stars. He has a deep appreciation for the awe that comes from contemplating how vast, complex, and remarkable the universe is. He also plays acoustic guitar in the worship band at their church.
Deb enjoys reading, nature in its many forms, horticulture, and animals that go “Woof, Meow, or Neigh.” She is also active in a variety of volunteer roles in their church and community.
