The Mental Reset
At New Pathways MD, ketamine is more than a medication—it is a psychological reset. Many patients describe the experience as a chance to step back from repetitive negative thoughts and see their world in a new light. This is a journey of neuroplasticity, where the brain is given the space to heal and rewire itself toward a more resilient and peaceful state of mind.
Support & Safety
Creating a safe environment and finding the right support person is essential for your journey.

Your Setting
Prepare for your session by creating a quiet, safe space. Use noise-canceling headphones and a calming playlist to help you transition into a reset state.

Your Support Person
Having a trusted, calm individual present is vital. They can provide reassurance, assist with bathroom movement, and ensure your safety during the recovery period.
The Afterglow
After your session, your brain is in a state of heightened plasticity. This is your time to reflect. Journal your memories, new perspectives, and ways forward. Bring these reflections to your next visit to help us make the most of your treatment journey.
Ongoing Care
Follow-up Frequency
Follow-ups are scheduled for a full 30 minutes, tailored to your progress and stability. We typically meet monthly, though the frequency may be spaced farther apart when you are feeling consistently well.
Weekly Mood Surveys
Before each visit, we review your mood and symptom tracking. This allows us to make informed decisions about your treatment plan and ensure we are making the most of your progress.
Medication Review
We conduct a thorough review of your current medication list at intake and whenever changes occur. Dr. Andersen will decide on any holds or adjustments to ensure your safety and overall mental health.
